...Great effort by Simon, finishing 9th in World Heads up Chamionship

Well now i have to shrug off the disappointment of Bellagio and having just played the biggest tournament of my career at $25,000 , refocus for a £1000 in Blackpool , followed by a 1000 Euro in Paris , the 2000 euro World Heads Up in Barcelona then a £400 No Limit in Southampton .

I started well in Vegas with a 13th of 316 in the $2000 and was happy with my game but missed out on a $25,000 win in the first Super , unneccesarily playing a pair of 6's when i had great chips , then went out on the first hand of the second Super , that set me back $5200 !

In the main event i had no problems the first day but completely lost my focus when faced by Sam Farha who seemed to be in a rush to get rid of his 152,000 chips on the second day and i decided i wanted a piece of it and played a hand i wouldn't have even called with the day before .

In this game you can only learn from your mistakes but i wish it could have happened in another event . On the positive side i rarely play cash but the games were so easy even i was able to win , i used it to play some daily tournaments at Bellagio but closest i got was last 2 tables .

In the No Limit $10 $20 blinds i saw a guy sit down , pull up $2000 and after watching a couple of hands it was clear he had never played before , he lasted 20 minutes , i booked 3 winning sessions and also played a bit of $20 $40 Hi Lo , there were 4 local pros and some tourists , i saw people chasing with 3rd or 4th low and calling with straights when there were flushes and full houses out , it was amazing , i am sure the cash specialists are cleaning up with all the new players coming into the game .

I have decided to add a blog to the site where Mathilde will when possible do updates as i play , i don't want to do it forum style as i feel that Tony , Dave and Rhowena at Blonde Poker do a great job utilising that form of live updates and i am not interested in copying them .

I hope my June report will have something regarding winning to report .
