July Latest News
Well , it's that time of year again , like every poker player i can't wait to get to Vegas for the WSOP .
This year i am being sponsored by Purple-Lounge for whom i will be wearing their shirts and getting as much media attention as possible , they are one of the fastest growing sites on the Prima network and have some very original marketing concepts , for those of you who would like to play there i will soon have banners on the site giving you a 27% rakeback deal.
Last year i was interviewed by Jesse May for his poker show after my first event , i had 9 left to play and said my goal was two cashes with at least one final , i cashed in the $2,000 No Limit and came 5th in the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha .
I remember last year deciding that i would prefer to play events this year with $2000 starting chips minimum , bearing that in mind this is my intended schedule.
Mathilde and i arrive 5th July , this allows me 4 days to relax and get over the jet lag , i will then play the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha on 9th July as the first leg of my Purple-lounge Triple .
I dont want to play every day as i believe you burn yourself out if you do.
If i am out on the 11th i may play the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold-em , see how i feel.
I will definitely play the $2,500 No Limit Short Handed on 13th July .
I will play single table satellites and may enter the $3,000 Limit but as i very rarely play limit i will probably skip it and play the only other Pot Limit Omaha event on 17th July , a $1,500 .
My next event for Purple-Lounge is the $5,000 Short Handed No Limit on 20th July and following this my last event before the main event is likely to be the $5,000 Pot Limit Hold-em.
I will buy in for the main event when i buy in for the $10,000 PLO and $5,000 Short handed and let you know what day i play.
Apart from a Super Satellite day on Wed 26th i intend to take a few days off before the $10,000 Championship event.
So between 9th July and 28th July i expect to play up to 6 events , i think a realistic goal is the same as last year , two cashes with one final , the only difference is i want to exceed the $95,000 i won !
I will be writing a regular blog covering during the WSOP , not just on playing the events or satellites but also on what i do on days off , having been to Vegas 23 times i have seen most of the shows and done a few of the sights , Hoover Dam , Grand Canyon Helicopter Flights etc . This time i will share the experiences with you.
Hope you enjoy reading it as much as i will doing it .
Thanks to all of you who have vistited my site this year even when i haven't added much , it is for you guys that i promise to keep my blog updated as much as possible.
All the best
