£1000 Pot Limit Omaha The Vic London
After the hands i got in the £750 No Limit on Tuesday , 33 , AKo and AJo i thought well at least it can't get any worse , i was wrong !
The Omaha tonight was a freezeout and double chance , we all started with 5000 then could take the second 5000 if we dropped below 2500 or at the end of 90 minutes.
During the double chance period the best hand i saw was 88 where i flopped a set in the SB and just won the BB , i made one bad call when on a checked flop i made the second nuts with a middle pin ten on the river , i checked and called a 1500 bet , he had the nuts !
After we had all taken the second 5000 i continued picking up rags then finally after two players limped i found KK QT ds on the button and raised the pot getting one caller , fllop was J 8 6 rainbow , he checked and i bet the pot , he quickly reraised , i didn't like it but had to call , he turned over 79 9T , turn was a 2 , river a K and i doubled up .
This was shortlived though , we had started with 91 and i managed to survive to 40 with no hands then when Jon Shoreman moved all in for 1700 from early position i called in the SB with AJ T8 only for Ash Pervais to reraise all in in the BB , he is a very tight player and will have a minimum of KK , more likely AA , i passed for my last 5500 . Ash turned up AA ## john had JJ ##.
Flop was J ## Q K and John survived , of course had i chose to gamble i would have got lucky and made the nuts , typical !
The next hand was my last , there was one limper for 600 , back to me and i had 9T JK ss and raised 2100 , Richard Ashby called , the original limper passed , flop was A T 3 rainbow , i bet all in for 2600 , Richard kept staring at his cards and declared " this would be a really loose call , i need a middle pin or backdoor spades " the pot was 8900 , eventually Richard shrugged and called , if i won i would have 11500 the most all day .
His hand was J6 of spades 45 of diamonds , he needed a 2 or running spades , turn was the Q of spades giving me the nut straight , river the T of spades making Richards flush , now i don't have a problem with someone with his chips making this call ( he had over 20,000 ) however what i don't agree with is why call the 2100 raise preflop with that hand especially with a limper behind you who may reraise and has you outchipped .
So , tomorrow another day off ready to prepare for the main event the £1500 No Limit , lets hope like last week in Dublin i can play well , get lucky and maybe even pick up some hands then this time i might actually make my 9th final here .
