Everyone here was expecting the first event to be a sell out after the attendance in Barcelona for the EPT there , but it was apparent that the travelling players are going to turn up later in the week for the £1000 omaha followed by the £3000 EPT .

I think the reason for this is although tonights event was a £1000 no limit the next two events are £250 Hi Lo Omaha and £200 Pot Limit Hold-em and these probabaly aren't big enough for the Scandanavians . I expect that rather than spend a week in London most will come for 4 days .

The maximum was 170 and we still had 138 .

I kept to a game plan and found some premium hands but it wasn't to be .

The weakest hand i played was the first, A9s in late position , the flop was 9 4 2 with a club draw , the betting went check , bet 300 , i called as did the next player then it was raised to 1800 , the original better passed as did i and the second flat caller reraised to 3800 winning the pot , guess i had the worst hand preflop and on what looked like a good flop !

I then had AKo in the BB , there was one limper , a player who likes to see a lot of flops and will bet if checked to him , the SB came in and i checked hoping to catch a card and get paid , the flop was A 3 6 rainbow , SB checked as did i , the limper played his role as i expected and bet 100 , the SB called and i raised to 400 , the limper passed but the SB called , i put him on either an A or 45 turn was a T , he checked and i fired out 500 , i figured if he had slow played two pair he would now reraise but he just called , river was a 7 , he checked so now i knew he didn't have the straight but i also knew there was no point betting as he may of hit his kicker , i checked and flipped up my AK , he had A3o . On the flop he had two opportunities to raise and had flat called both times and then checked the turn , i was able to get away from this hand a lot cheaper than i should.

During the next level i was down to 3700 from 5000 , the table had determined a pattern , either four or five limped , or after one or two limpers there was a raise and one or two callers . When i picked up KK in second position and the FP limped , i also limped hoping for a raise , the button obliged raising to 300 , the BB called as did the FP , perfect , i now reraised to 1500 , the button moved in for 3300 total , the other two passed , now i am well capable of laying down KK however i figured as one of the callers to his raise likely had an A i would be unlucky to run into AA , it crossed my mind that this may be deja vu as last time i had KK in Barcelona my opponent had them too , i called leaving myself 350 , i was unlucky , he held AA !

I kept my composure and when the BB came round i picked up A5o and after 3 limpers saw a flop of A 5 3 , i checked then when no one bet moved in for my last 250 on the turn when a K came , one non believer called me with a K and i was back up to 1000 ,

One round later there was a limper for 100 and i found JJ , i reraised 850 all in , the chip leader on my left made it 2000 to go and all passed , he had the classic coin flip AK and the dealer wasted no time , first card was a K , river was an A .

Was i unlucky tonight , did i play bad ? I don't think so , this is poker , it will happen again and again , what you have to do is accept that and each time play your A game , you will in the long run win your share of the coin flips and most times your KK will be the best hand . One of the absolutes in No Limit is you have to win with AK and beat AK , tonight i couldn't , hopefully in the EPT this weekend i will .
