Normal service has been resumed !

After giving myself a " what on earth are you doing " talking to, my game is back on track . Tonight with 80 players i finished a very unlucky 12th , they decided to pay 11 after i went .

With 14 left i lost a pot after flopping a full house that would have made me chip leader but other than that bit of bad luck i am still very happy with the way i played and looking forward to the main event .

My first table was a cracker , Devilfish on my right , Mad Marty two to my left . One of the first hands i doubled up , the flop was checked three handed but on the turn Marty bet 250 , i raised to 650 and the last player reraised all in for 1650 , Marty passed , i called with the nuts and a K flush draw , my hand 47c KTh , flop 3 6h 8h 9 , my opponent had the same straight needing a J to go higher , river was the 4h making my flush.

Marty was raising every other pot and i called with A956 , flop was A 9 3 , Marty bet i called , turn 9 , Marty all in , i call , he had a smaller house of 3's .

I then call a raise from Devilfish with QQ J4c , flop is Qc A 3C , i bet and Devilfish raised all in , i called , Dave has Aces and Threes with the nut flush draw , turn is a K , river an A to give Dave the higher full house .

I finish the rebuy period and take the add on , have a healthy 11,200 . A couple of hands into the third level they break our table and on my first hand in the BB i pick up Qd T 3d 9 , two limpers and the flop is Q Td 7d , with top 2 and the Q flush draw i bet pot , one player goes all in for 2000 , he has just lost a big pot and i think you will agree was gambling with 45 68 no diamonds , the next player moves in for 5000 , i call , he has 77 for a set but no other draws , turn is a 3 , river a 4 and i lose both the main and side pot .

No problem i patiently wait and pick up 2 nice hands AK TJ and AQ TJ but miss the flops then again in the BB i win a nice pot with 79 TJ making the nut straight on the river ,by the end of level 5 i am up to 16,000 . I then call a raise with QQ A6 and flop a full T T Q but no action then just as the level is ending i decide unlike in Paris where i passed the nut flush draw to a bet today i was going to call and try to get more chips , flop was As 5s J , i check raised all in with Ks Ts T 6 , and was called by AK 88 , i needed a T Q or a spade and i rivered the 3 of spades , up to 23,000.

The same player still had chips and raised the next pot , one caller and with KK 63ds i decide to see the flop rather than raise , this comes J 5 J , raiser all in for 4,500 , limper reraises to 8,700 all in , i have to pass , first player was bluffing with no hand at all , second has flopped Jacks full , river was a K .When this happens don't start calling on future pots trying to get lucky .

We are now down to 3 tables and i move to a table back with Mad Marty and Dave Colclough , i win a pot of Dave who has similar chips when raising on the button with KJ K5ds , flop is A Q 4 3 , we are both checking then a perfect T falls on the river .

Players are dropping fast and with over 30,000 and the blinds 600 1200 i am in good shape , Dave loses a big pot and when one player raises to 4000 i call with QQ T4 , Dave has to put his last 300 in and on a flop of Q 9 6 i'm not checking , i make my full house , and then with another player all in and one caller i decide to take a flop from the BB with KJ 42 , flop is J 4 7 K J , yet another full house , this game is easy , i have 43,000 , we are down to 2 tables and i am chip leader on mine.

Now the blinds are 800 1600 , i am down to 39,000 about average and in the BB , there are 2 limpers both of which i have covered , yet again i am about to make a full house but this time it costs me the tournament when it could so easily have guaranteed me a top finish .

I have T7 53 , flop was T T 3 , no point in checking and giving them a free card to hit an overpair , if i check raise and the better has a T all the chips are going in so i bet 5600 , one player raises the pot , back to me and i move in , he calls , pot is 71,000 , average for the final is 52,000 . He turns up KT 89 , turn is a Q , river an 8 !

I survive one double up with my last 3500 then on my last all in can't beat a pair of 9's even with a draw to a set , one over card and a flush draw .

If i just wanted to make the money i could have slow played the full house and maybe would not have lost so many chips , we'll never know but i want to win so if i can get my chips in with the best of it i will . Making the final likely chip leader i am sure i would have finished top 3 so no regrets.

Bring on the main event , i am focused and confident .
