However there is a possible controversy , when Tuan went all in for 1.9 m Hasan flipped up KJs and passed , this is a huge hand 3 handed and with 5 times as many chips should have been an automatic call , he paid the price as you will see . Maybe they had shares with each other ?
During the first 50 hands there were only 5 flops , then at hand 55 we lost Phil Ivey , he had doubled up Rob Hollink three hands before holding AJ v QQ , now he had AJ again v QQ of Hasan ,he collected $264,195 ,on the very next hand Rob who had got sick of passing every time Tuan raised moved in with QT and Tuan called with KJ and took him out , Rob collected $377,420.
On hand 75 Paul took out John Phan who won $518,920
On hand 117 Hasan turned down the chance to take out Le while holding a 5 to 1 chip lead , on hand 143 having lost his chip lead Hasan moved all in and Tuan called with KJ , the hand Hasan had passed earlier , Hasan finished 3rd having had two thirds of all the chips in play at one stage , i am sure he is disappointed . He will be comforted slightly by the $896,375 but i am sure he expected more .
The heads up lasted another 50 hands and although Paul had had his share of river cards to survive he was desperately unlucky not to wrap it up on hand 187 , Tuan had bet 2m and Paul called with 56s , flop was 5 6 3 , Tuan moved all in and Paul called , Tuan had 89 needing a 7 to win , turn was a 2 which meant a 4 would be a split , river was great for TV as of course it was the 7 !
A few hands later with blinds and antes costing a 1,000,000 it was all over , having knocked out both Rob and Hasan with KJ then having Hasan lay the KJ down when he was all in , Tuan won the tournament with KJ v Pauls K5 .
He won $2,856,150 to add to his win at Foxwoods earlier in the season and now leads Daniel Negreanu in the all time WPT money list , i am sure when they edit this final down to the required 25 hands it will make exciting viewing , a great result for Europe and fantastic achievement by Rob Hollink winning the EPT Championship in Monte Carlo and now 5th in the WPT Championship here in Las Vegas the following month , if that doesn't win Performance of the year i will be surprised !
