We were playing Double Chance Pot Limit Hold-em , a format i enjoy but after having two 7am finishes in a row i'm not surprised that tonight i couldn't get started.

With 500 chips to start and blinds 2 5 i played one hand unchallenged TT , second level was just as uneventful , one hand AQ which won a small pot , then in level 3 i won with KK v AQ and after taking the second chance i was in ok shape with 1950 .

From the 4th level on i only played QTs v 22 where i made a flush then i lost a big pot against an all in player , he had TJo to my AKs and flopped a J , i did find KK but just won the blinds .

With one hand to go before dinner i was struggling and when i picked up AJs in FP i decided that i was either going to come back after dinner with good chips or have an early night , i raised to 240 and got one caller , all others passed round to the BB who reraised me all in , i called as did the other player , actually i was in good shape , the call was correct , the raiser had TT while the other player had 97s , he obviously called for value hoping his cards were live , eg we both had AK , all i needed now was an A or J and i would come back after the 90 minute dinner break with above average chips , unfortunately the BB flopped a set and turned a full house .

I later saw he made the final , the only other player apart from me to make two this week , however in the first i knocked him out and today he only managed 7th , no one else increased there points for Best Overall Player so with two events to go i am still favourite to win , i will take this as a positive in preperation for the main event , the €1000 No Limit in two days time.

I guarantee there will be some interesting hands in the next diary .
