Here i am in Paris about to play in the " Hold-em Series " wondering if my Omaha result will actually effect my overall form .

Poker is not slowing down , here in Paris they have 7 events , i missed the first two but entered the €300 , as with the first two it was sold out at 183 , not only did i manage to get past level 9 i actually made it to the final and my demise came in level 18 !

It was a Freezeout and we started with 500 chips but blinds of 2 5 , i started off pretty slow , no hands first level and then with 99 in the second level i called a raise and moved in on a flop of T T T but no calls , 99 won me another pot v AK in the third level on a flop of 7 7 8 6 8 but i still finished down at 320 .

Then in level 4 i saw a flop of 4 8 9 holding 89o , i check raised the first limper of three all in , he had AA , then i took on an all in with A8s , he had QQ but i make an 8 high straight , then again in the BB i got a gift , after calling a bet on a flop of A K Q and two spades with J5 of spades then making the flush my raise on the river gets called by a player with A6o !

Now i was up to 1020 but it still wasn't looking like a winning day , i only played one hand in the 5th level AJ , i raised the 25 50 to 200 and got reraised by the BB who went all in for 315 , i called , he had K4o . In the 6th level i was called when i raised to 245 with TT , flop was T 6 2 and he went all in with 44 , now i had 950 .

In level 7 i was all in again , this time the button raised to 225 and i moved in for 850 with AK , he called with J8 of hearts , don't ask ! Flop was Q T 4 with two hearts and i expected one of his many outs to come but they didn't , i then got my best hand so far QQ but passed to an all in bet on a K high flop , still managed to increase to a healthy 2300.

We are now up to 75 150 i call a 300 raise with AQo only for a limper to make it 1300 which is called , i pass , they show KK and 88 , flop is A high , still facing the action i made the correct fold but sometimes it pays to make the wrong call at the right time .

I drop back to 1600 and my table is broken , we are down to the last 36 . In No Limit events the skill is to survive to a point where you will either lose your key pot usually a coin flip or as i did tonight win a couple of big pots to propel you into a chance of winning . After being moved i limped in with 67s and flopped trip 7's , the very next hand i got QQ again , this time i raised to 700 and was reraised 3000 , i called all in and he had JJ and i doubled up .

I got moved again but having passed the barrier of level 9 i seemed to be unstoppable , i had AA uncalled then AQ on a Q high flop and AK on a K high flop , i also made correct lay downs , after limping with 77 the SB who i easily had covered moved in , i was sure he had a big pair and passed , he showed KK so everything was going right for once and entering level 12 with blinds of 300 600 i was up to 8500 .

During the next two levels i was surrounded by all in raises i couldn't call and apart from one blind steal it was back to survival , luckily as the blinds increased to 800 1600 i made the final with 5600 before they got to me and drew seat 8 , although i was second shortest stack i had a few hands breathing space .

I only had one move and i used it twice , the first time with 88 , no callers up to 8000 , then after the blinds passed me A2o looked good on the button and i did it again , the BB asked for a chip count and called for 4000 more with KQs as i would have done but my A won.

I survive as players are dropping out till with blinds at 1600 3200 i am all in again for 5200 , i get called by Q5o who flops a 5 to take the lead over my KJo but i river a J , we lose the 5th player and with 4 left and blinds of 2000 4000 i am still short stack with 12,000 , there is 91,500 in play so even the average stack of 23,000 is under pressure .

I then hit an amazing rush of cards , in the SB i moved in with AA the BB passed , then on the button i move in with 88 , no callers now up to 22,000 , FP all in again with 44 , pick up the 6000 , the BB someone else moved in and i pass then again in the SB i get AA , this time i just make it 10,000 but the BB doesn't bite , i am now chip leader , in FP i get KJs , short handed that is good enough , again i move in , this time the BB calls with A7o and i go from chip leader to shortest stack , i manage to survive with 94o all in and TT in FP all in , this time the BB shows me A3o before passing saying he doesn't like his kicker , i am back to 23,000 and think as i am the most aggressive and have had some great hands i am going to win my second No Limit in Paris this year but it wasn't to be , how's this for a bad beat ?

The button moved in for 17,000 , i call in the BB with A3o sure he is stealing , he turns up J7o and when he sees my A3 taps the table to say good call , flop is A 2 9 and he gets up , turn is a T and he is putting on his jacket , river is a gutshot 8 and he turns to leave until i point out the straight he didn't even see and he is now chip leader !

The next hand i have put in the 2000 SB and go all in for my last 4000 blind , the BB throws in the extra 2000 to call and shows Q2o , i turn up A8s , flop brings a 2 , turn is an A but river is a Q and i am out in 4th , not bad out of 183 and i also learn i have scored 7 points for the Best Overall Player , there are 7 events , this was the third , each winner scores 15 , runner up 12 , third gets 9 and fourth 7 , so far no one has made two finals so 15 is the number to beat , i am scheduled to play three of the next 4 , the €500 Pot Limit , the €1000 No Limit main event and the €250 Short Handed , it is 7am in the morning and tonight is the €30 Progressive at 8pm , i have to decide whether to play it or not , see how i feel later today .
