With 32 left in the World Heads up Championship we all sat down to play at 3.30 , the last 16 who would all be in the money were scheduled to play from 5.30 on .

Each day thay start with a match on the TV table then when it finishes they move a match from the main arena that has already started .

I played Martin Cedarcrantz another young Swede and friend of Albert Alshamn that i beat the day before , i watched him play Ross and expected a tough game , in the end it all went my way .

In an early hand i called a raise with A3 , flop was K 5 3 , Martin bet and i called , turn was a second K , we both checked , river was a J and Martin now overbet 1400 , i had to decide if he was trapping with a set or on a total bluff , having watched him for a minute i decided my 3's were good and called , he had 82o .

From then on until he was shortstacked he played a very passive game and to be fair to him although i didn't pick up any big hands i did hit the flops , in one hand with A rag suited i turned the nuts and check raised on the river and got paid , another i limped with KTo , flop was K 9 K , both checked , turn another 9 i check called , river a T , i bet strong and Martin called .

After one hour i was leading 29,000 to 11,000 , Martin raised his game when i had him down to 7000 but eventually the last hand came , he raised to 1500 and i called for 900 more , flop was J 5 7 , i checked he bet 2500 and i raised to 8000 , he called all in with J2 , turn was a 9 and it was all over . I had J9 .

Some of the matches were already over and at 5.30 four of the 4th round matches started , my next opponent was to be either another Swede Peter Gunnarson or Mickey Wernick , the organisers had come up to me and said as i had to wait for their match to finish would i wlso wait for the current TV match to end as they wanted to film a whole match instead of one half way through , knowing this would be good exposure for my sponsors UK Betting i readily agreed , also i thought playing in front of the cameras would give me an edge as i have done this many times before . Little did i know that having had Peter down to 6000 he would stage a comeback lasting another 90 minutes and would finally get lucky when with Mickey all in for 9000 with 77 and Peter holding 66 he would flop a 6 to win .

It was now 7pm and i would have been happy to play straight away but the TV game lasted 5 hours and 40 minutes and we didn't start till about 10pm ! I had finished my match 5 hours earlier .

While waiting i saw 3 hands of note , on 2 tables the all in hands were AKs v 44 and in both cases the AKs hit top pair or a straight but lost to a club flush on the river ,then in Dave Colcloughs game his opponent slow played AA , flop was J 4 J , small bet and call , turn was a T and Dave tried to steal with his 78s , his opponent still flat called , river was the 9 of spades making all possible draws and now the player with AA moved in !

Fourth round , we were sat in the studio with 40,000 but double the structure as with every other round , Peter played two hands soft then started raising every button , i was picking up rubbish and more importantly missing flops as well , i tried a couple of reraises , also raising from the button with any two cards but he always found a hand, eventually having been reduced to 30,000 , i tried a different approach raising blind , he passed and as i had to show the cameras i saw my hand , it was TT and was to be the best hand i would see in 100 minutes , i had one AQ that i called a raise with then passed on a flop of 5 6 7 .

It is possible that i was being outplayed by an aggressive player but as the match continued it did seem extremely one sided , on one flop A high we checked it done , he showed QQ , three hand later i called a raise with 7Ts , flop was Q T 4 rainbow , i called a bet on the turn and river which were undercards , he had JJ , then in another key hand i held Q8o , flop was 5 6 9 T two hearts , he now bet 3000 , i had a double belly buster and one over card if he had the T , river was the 8 of hearts ,he checked and so did i hoping my pair might be good , he had 62 of hearts !

The key hand was when i had 27,000 to 53,000 , he raised to 2400 and i quickly reraised for only the second time to 8800 with KQo , he called straight away , i had him on either a pair from 99's up or suited connectors , maybe a suited A , flop was A 9 T with a flush draw , i checked and so did he , usually i know where i am but my first instinct was he was trapping me , turn was a 5 , ok now on reflection i should have bet here but with only 19000 left if my gut is right i would be walking into a reraise so i checked , he also checked , now i figure he either has AA and is giving me a free card to bluff on the river or he like me has a draw , if so and a blank falls i am sure he will bluff , river was a harmless 2 , i check intending to raise , he bet 8000 , now this was quite a clever bet because it is hard for me to move in , with 25600 in the pot if i call and raise my last 11000 making the pot 44600 , he virtually has to call if he has a pair the way the betting went .

I start to think about the hand , i don't understand why he would bet on the end after checking the turn unless he is bluffing with a missed draw , any pair or small A he would be happy to check , in the end i decided he has KJs or JQs and if so why move in just make a great call , i called and he said good call , i was elated until he turned his hand up , he had called my 6400 reraise preflop then bet on the end bluffing with the best hand , i had correctly read it as a bluff but my KQ doesn't beat 33 !

I still had 11000 but was going to have to change gear as we were about to go to 600 1200 , he was now raising every hand and with K5s i decided to call hoping i had live cards , he had AQs same suit but i flopped a 5 to survive , a few hands later i had KJs , i limped , he raised and as i had intended i reraised all in , he called , he had AQs again , flop was 9 9 4 two his suit , turn gave him the nut flush .

Basically i would say Peter plays a good game but he would be the first to admit as he did afterwards that even he couldn't believe the cards he was getting , he had better hands , hit most of the flops and i think most players would have been beaten a lot quicker than i was .

I am pleased to have made the last 16 but would have like to have gone further , i will never know if we had played straight away at 7pm in the main arena instead of waiting till 10pm for the TV studio if i would have run better , whatever , no regrets i put up a good fight and gave a good show which will hopefully have alot of it aired .

Today is the €1000 No Limit , i have just had my 5th cash of the year and my best showing in the World Heads Up so my confidence is as good as ever .
