Today i played the Limit Seven Card Stud , i only play this format once a year here and i missed last year , somehow i won this in 99 , i must have just got incredibly lucky and was probably doing everything wrong .

We had 3000 chips and were allowed one rebuy which i took after the first 90 minutes of torture , i had increased to 3545 playing only three hands , i will keep this brief as i would never try to teach anyone Stud , i had 88 66 in four cards and a player with QQ refused to pass , then i had KKK in four cards and the same player insisted on calling all the way to hit a middle pin 6 then i made a flush , with the 300 extra and antes of 25 bring in of 75 and blinds 150 300 i had plenty of time to wait.

And i did , i waited and waited and still got nothing then after two levels i started with 77 K which by 5th street was also a flush draw which never improved , after 3 hours of play i was on fumes , the only other hand i saw was 66 TT which i played to the river against a player with a 2 as his door card , he had started with 222 !

With antes now 50 , bring in 150 and limit 300 600 , i was the forced card with a 3 showing and after 3 callers my last 225 went in , i managed to hit a pair of 6's which were outclassed by a set of 9's , next year i will definitely save my €600 as clearly 1999 was a fluke .

Several new faces are turning up just to play tomorrows main event , the €2100 No Limit , the closest i came to winning this was a few years ago when Ken Lennard was chip leader and i was third with 15 players left , i raised his BB 2400 with QQ and he moved in for 23,000 , i knew this pot could decide the tournament and called for my 21,000 , he had AK and turned a K and went on to win.

I will now play a Limit Stud cash game , no just kidding , i will have dinner and relax with an early night ready for my final event of the year and hopefully a longer diary than the last two .
