There were 92 players and the format was double chance so we started with 5000 in chips and after 3 levels added the remaining 5000 if we didn't need it earlier.

During this period i basically played only 3 hands , TT JQ where i made a flush , then came a key hand , after FP and one other had limped there was a raise to 300 , 2 called ( this was an action table ) as did i with KK J2 suited in clubs in the SB , the BB passed but FP called and now the pot was reraised by the second limper to 2450 , i assumed obvious AA , the first raiser went all in for 1850 , round to me i have Alan Mclean in FP and know if i call so will he so i do knowing if i miss the flop i will still have 3200 , the flop came 9 Q 4 with two clubs , i moved in , Alan passed and the AA player called for less , he had AA xx , the all in had 67 89ds , turn was a T and the river another unneccesary club .

I then won another nice pot when the second chip leader raised my BB , i called with 89 TJ , flop was 6 7 8 , i check called putting him on an overpair , turn paired the 7 , i led out and he called , river a 3 , i value bet but he passed . I ended the 90 minute double chance period with 19,500 and began to think i was on my way , mad fool !

Did i forget to mention the lineup ? Apart from Alan i also had Jeff Duvall , Jan Slavik and the always dangerous Lucy Rokach , oh and Davood Merhmand who just came 3rd in an Omaha event at the WSOP .

On the first hand after the break i raised the pot with AQ Q8ss , only Lucy called in the BB , flop was Q T 9 with two spades , Lucy led out and i called with top set and the bare nut A , turn was a J and Lucy bet again , i still called but the river was no help and i passed to Lucys all in .

I was still in good shape with over 12,000 but a couple of dead rounds left me with 9600 when in the SB this happened , there were 4 limpers for 400 , i put in 200 more with AJ 86ds , flop was Q 9 7 all diamonds i had flopped the nuts , i bet pot of 2400 hoping someone would put me on the bare A , all passed to the chip leader who asked for my chip count then reraised to 9600 , passed to me i called for my last 6800 making the pot 20,800 , we turned up our hands , he held no diamonds but had flopped bottom set of 7's , turn was the 6 of diamonds river the remaining 7 in the deck to give him quads , lovely !

I am happy with my game and looking forward to the EPT .
