Diary
After the main events disappointment i returned tonight with renewed confidence hoping to catch some cards .
With 3000 to start , a 30 minute clock , i knew this was going to be quicker than usual and it may pay to gamble if neccesary . I called a small raise with JQs as did the player to my left , flop was Q T 3 , bet of 150 , i called and was raised to 700 , we both passed he showed KK .
In the second level 25 50 there was one limper and i raised to 250 with AKs , the KK player called as did two others , flop was 7 8 A rainbow , one of my suit , checked to me i bet 600 , KK player raised all in 2300 more , all passed to me , i had 1700 left , pot was 3975 , i knew he would have raised less with a set so he either had AK , AQ or 78s , one i'm beating , one i'm splitting , and one i need to hit an A or a K or a running pair or back door spades , i decided to call .
He had 78s , turn was a Q but the river wasn't an A K or Q and i was out .
Before play started i had coffee with Teddy Tuille , he is well known for disliking JJ , in the first Poker Million where he came second to John Duthie , he threw them away shorthanded preflop to everyones amazement . Yesterday in the main event Paul Testud bet all in , one player called and Teddy with JJ declared all in , he was to the dealers right and when the next player said pass the dealer took Teddys cards !
Today we went out at the same time and he came over and said " guess what hand i had ? "
This time he flat called a raise with JJ , flop was Q J 5 with the QJ of hearts , all the chips went in and his opponent had AT of hearts , guess what the turn card was ? Yes the K of hearts making his opponent a royal flush , i suppose that's the last time Teddy will ever play JJ again .
On Wednesday i leave for Bellagio , i will be taking it easy until Sunday then will play the $1500 No Limit followed by the $2500 No Limit on Tuesday then 5 days off to be in perfect shape for the biggest tournament of my career the WPT Championship $25,000 No Limit , as always you can follow my progress here at Sporting Life , this could be the one i have been waiting for !
